Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of traditional Spanish tapas. Learn to make Elena’s family Gazpacho recipe, a refreshing chilled tomato-based soup bursting with the essence of summer, and Patatas Bravas, crispy fried potatoes served with a creamy garlic aioli sauce. This class is a great fit for those with dietary restrictions, since it’s naturally vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free.

Please note all classes are listed in Pacific Time Zone. After registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom session we will use. Our cooking classes require a minimum of 4 participants to run.


Ingredients & Preparation


Have your ingredients pre-measured and prepped before the class for a more seamless experience.
If you do not have certain ingredients, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.

Gazpacho
Serves 2

  • 500 grams (17 ounces) ripe Roma tomatoes

  • 1 small green bell pepper

  • 1 cucumber

  • 1/2 of an onion

  • 50 milliliters (3 tablespoons) olive oil

  • 100 milliliters (6 tablespoons) water, if tomatoes are not very juicy

  • Sherry vinegar or white wine vinegar

  • Salt

  • Black Pepper

  • Optional garnishes:

    • 2 slices white bread for croutons

    • 1 egg to be hardboiled

    • Iberian ham

Patatas Bravas & Aioli Sauce
Serves 2

  • 500 grams (17 ounces) russet potatoes, or other frying potato

  • 1 liter (1 quart or 4 1/4 cups) vegetable or canola oil, or other neutral flavored oil for frying

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1 egg at room temperature

  • 150 milliliters (5 fluid ounces or 2/3 cup) olive oil

  • 1 lemon

  • Salt

  • Spanish smoked paprika

Before Class Steps

  • Bring the egg to room temperature for the aioli

  • Cutting board & sharp knives

  • Mixing bowls

  • Blender for Gazpacho

  • Fine mesh sieve for Gazpacho

  • Baking sheet for optional croutons

  • Small pot for optional hardboiled egg

  • Cheese grater for optional hardboiled egg

  • Immersion blender for Aioli

  • Medium pot with high sides for frying the potatoes

  • Vegetable peeler

  • A baking sheet or large plate lined with paper towels
