LIVE Sopa de Peixe (Portuguese Seafood Soup) with Chef Ana from Lisbon

Join Chef Ana in making a signature Portuguese recipe celebrating a cuisine characterized by the sea. A very simple recipe that combines light white meat fish and pasta, in a soup rich in textures and intense savory flavors. Make a large pot and serve your entire family or to have a cozy bowl for lunch the next day!

Ingredients & Preparation

If you do not have certain ingredients, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.

Have your ingredients pre-measured and prepped before the class for a more seamless experience.


Sopa de Peixe (Portuguese Seafood Soup)

  • 1 or 2 white fish stakes (with bone, may use grouper, cod, monkfish or any other white fish. Don’t use tuna or salmon)

  • Olive oil to taste

  • 1 Onion

  • 2 Garlic cloves

  • 1 bay leaf (optional)

  • 1 Carrot

  • 4 Tomatoes

  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 small cilantro bunch

  • 2 cups elbow pasta (gluten-free pasta is a suitable option)

  • 1 Carrot

  • 1 cup dry dhite dine

  • Tabasco or piri-piri sauce (optional)

Equipment

  • 2 medium pots

  • 1 hand blender

  • 1 wooden spoon

  • 1 cooking board

  • 1 knife

General Steps:

  1. Make the soup stock.

  2. Prepare the soup base.

  3. Cook the pasta and combine ingredients to complete the soup.
