/April 2, 2024 Seattle, WA
The Table Less Traveled has announced its return trip to Japan in 2024 with an 11-day Inside Japan Tour. The tour will open doors to insider exploration in Tokyo, Kyoto, Ishikawa, and Osaka with an overnight stay at a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, to experience the hot springs. Travelers will enjoy private tea tastings, food and market tours, a few hand-selected temple visits, and more.
The 11-day trip visits Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Ishikawa, and includes many cultural experiences, such as a private kaiseki dinner and performance by a Maiko, Kyoto’s Geisha-in-training, a food tour where travelers will meet vendors in the Outer Tsukiji Fish Market with a local guide, enjoying a train bento on the bullet train, and an artisan experience with a shokunin, master craftsmen, which is unique to each Japan tour hosted by The Table Less Traveled. Among the included experiences is a private sake tasting with a sake sommelier and an owner-led tour of a local tea farm where travelers will learn to harvest perfect tea leaves and the process of turning them into Japanese green tea. Travelers will also cook alongside a local and create authentic, regional dishes that are special to Osaka.
“Travelers are curious about Japan and are looking for better ways to experience the culture when they visit. We’re excited to provide them a safe space to navigate customs with a knowledgeable guide who is with them 24/7,” said Annie Sim, Founder and CEO at The Table Less Traveled. “We know that a trip to Japan requires a lot of logistics for travelers to manage, which is why our trip eliminates that headache for travelers by including all internal transportation, tips and money exchanges, almost every meal during the trip, and English-speaking guides too.”
