Trip Itinerary
Our detailed itinerary is always subject to change as we constantly research, update our trip, and coordinate with our friends in Italy to work with their schedules! This itinerary is a great resource for getting an idea of what kind of experiences you’ll have when you travel with American 35 and TTLT to Italy.
Day 1 - 4: Naples
Naples is a vibrant city that pulses with energy, blending ancient traditions with modern life. It’s also the birthplace of pizza, making it the perfect beginning to our pizza trip!
We’ll explore the city’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its castles and palaces, its markets, and its food scene. We’ll savor traditional fried pizza as well as Neapolitan-style pizza, and we’ll roll up our sleeves in a hands-on pizza class.
Our time in Naples wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Pepe in Grani, one of the world’s best pizza restaurants. Created and run by Franco Pepe, the restaurant is founded on a passion for dough and is where experimentation, craftsmanship and hospitality all come together for an unforgettable experience.
Before we depart, we’ll spend some time at Pompeii for a tour of the ancient city and at Mount Vesuvius for a wine tasting at the foot of the volcano.
Day 5 - 8: Sorrento
After we have our fill of the city hustle and bustle, we’ll slow things down and head south to Sorrento. Perched on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento offers a tranquil and picturesque experience with stunning views of the Bay of Naples and a warm Mediterranean charm.
Here, we’ll tour the city, dine at a friend’s nursery closed down just for us, visit a family-run lemon grove and learn how limoncello is made, and tour a family-run farm where we’ll make our own mozzarella from scratch.
We’ll also spend an evening like a local in Positano as our friends Marika & Emanuele invite us into their family home on the cliffs overlooking the ocean for a traditional dinner made with fresh produce picked from their garden.
To end our tour, we’ll host a pizza party at our villa for our Italian friends that we’ve made along the way!
