LIVE Deliziose (Layered Neapolitan Cookies) Class with Domenico & Maria from Capri

Join Domenico and Maria in their home on the small island of Capri to make “deliziose,” a traditional Neapolitan dessert you’ll want to make over and over again. Buttery lemon cookies filled with vanilla cream and rolled in hazelnuts, one can see how the name of this dessert literally translates to “delicious!”

Please be mindful of the time of the class you sign up for and your own time zone. After registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom online meeting session we will use.


Ingredients & Preparation

Have your ingredients pre-measured and prepped before the class for a more seamless experience.
If you do not have certain ingredients, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.

Before class: Please make sure your butter is room temperature.

Deliziose
5-6 filled cookies

Shortbread Pastry

  • 250 grams (2 cups and 1 tablespoon) all-purpose flour

  • 100 grams (1 cup) powdered sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 125 grams (1/2 cup) butter, room temperature

  • 1 lemon (zest)

Cream

  • Pinch of salt

  • Vanilla extract

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 40 grams (3 1/4 tablespoons) sugar

  • 50 grams (1/4 cup) all-purpose flour

  • 250 grams (1 cup and 1/2 tablespoon) milk

Toppings

  • Crushed hazelnuts

  • Powdered sugar

  • Optional: crushed chocolate pieces


Equipment

  • Mixing bowls - 3

  • Electric mixer

  • Saucepan

  • Wooden spoon

  • Zester or grater

  • Baking sheet

  • Circular cookie cutter or bowl/glass

  • 10” round cake pan or springform pan

  • Optional: parchment paper
