Negroni and Crostini

Sunday, August 16th
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Pacific Time

Join Gaia from Tuscany for a classy Italian aperitivo complete with three different types of delicious vegetable crostini paired with one of Italy’s most famous cocktails, the Negroni.

Please be mindful of the time of the class you sign up for and your own time zone. After registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom online meeting session we will use.


Ingredients & Preparation

Have your ingredients pre-measured and prepped before the class for a more seamless experience.

If you do not have certain ingredients, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.


Crostini

  • Italian bread or any bread of your choice (4 slices per person)

Pepper and Cheese Topping

  • 2 peppers, cut in half and de-seeded (one yellow and one red pepper)

  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese

Zucchini Topping

  • 1 onion

  • 3 zucchini

  • Mint

  • Oregano

  • A few teaspoons white wine vinegar

Cannellini Bean Cream Topping

  • 1 can cannellini beans or white kidney beans

  • Rosemary

  • Pancetta in cubes (or sliced bacon if not available)

  • 4 garlic cloves salt

  • Black pepper

  • Chilli powder

  • Extra virgin olive oil

Negroni

  • 1 bottle Campari

  • 1 bottle Red Vermouth

  • 1 bottle gin

  • 1 orange

  • Optional: 1 bottle prosecco (substitute Prosecco for gin to make another version of a Negroni, Negroni Sbagliato)

Equipment

Certain commonly used kitchen tools are not listed here such as cutlery, dishes, mixing bowls, pots, and pans. Any additional equipment is listed here.

  • blender/hand-blender

  • 3 or 4 small and/or medium frying pan

  • Oven

General Steps

  1. Prepare 4 kinds of crostini - peppers and cream cheese, zucchini, mushrooms, and cannellini cream.

  2. Mix the Negroni cocktail to enjoy with your crostini!
