LIVE Torta Caprese (Chocolate Cake) Class with Domenico & Maria from Capri

Join Domenico and Maria for a sweet treat in their home on the small island of Capri! If you fell in love with their Torta Caprese al Limone, surely you will want to join to learn the traditional Torta Caprese recipe which uses chocolate and almonds. This is a great class for the whole family!

Please be mindful of the time of the class you sign up for and your own time zone. After registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom online meeting session we will use. Ingredients & Preparation

The expectation is that you will have some common household ingredients like salt, pepper, seasonings, olive oil, etc. Here is a complete list of ingredients. If you do not have them, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.

Torta Caprese (Chocolate Cake)

  • 150 grams (2/3 cup) butter

  • 200 grams (1 cup) sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of potato starch

  • 300 grams (1 3/4 cup) whole almonds

  • 250 grams (1 1/4 cup) of dark chocolate

  • 6 eggs

  • 16 grams (1 tablespoon) baking powder

  • 1 shot of rum or cognac

  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

Equipment

Certain commonly used kitchen tools are not listed here such as cutlery, dishes, mixing bowls, pots, and pans. Any additional equipment is listed here.

  • Mixing bowls

  • Electric hand mixer

  • 10” round cake pan or springform pan

  • Optional: parchment paper

General Steps

  1. Prepare chocolate and almonds.

  2. Mix batter for the cake

  3. Combine ingredients and bake cake.
